With a career that’s included roles as a writer, editor, business leader, pastor and career transition/executive coach, the “throughline” of Kevin’s career is the ability to help others clarify, commit and move forward with purpose. He works with transitioning senior business and nonprofit leaders to discover their own unique perspectives, accomplishments and contributions as they restart, redirect and reinvent their careers.
He began his professional career as a pastor, being present for people through some of the best and worst times of their lives. A born communicator, he then made a transition to adult nonfiction publishing, and he’s since authored or coauthored nearly 70 books. Those experiences have informed his current work as a career transition coach, in which he’s guided hundreds of clients across industries, levels and functions.
Kevin holds a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary and a bachelor’s in English and Print Journalism from the University of Wisconsin — River Falls. He studied Mandarin Chinese at National Taiwan Normal University.
He enjoys training and racing on the Zwift cycling platform ,as well as trail running and Nordic skiing. As an Extra Class ham radio operator, he has made contacts in more than 250 countries. He is a Master Observer amateur astronomer, an avid photographer, and a lifelong fan of all world music. Kevin and his wife of nearly 40 years live near their children, grandchildren and grandpups in the Twin Cities.
