Lorinda Burgess

Executive Consultant

One secret of success is to find someone who’s reached the goal you’re aiming for — and then discover how they did it. That’s why Lorinda Burgess is an excellent resource for your board service journey. She’s a highly successful, currently active, board member who works with Navigate Forward clients to help them find their own seats at the table. And a former senior-level leader herself, she finds purpose in providing clarity for clients in a situation that might be new and unfamiliar.

Lorinda’s career includes 25 years at global medical device company Medtronic PLC, where she eventually served for eight years as its Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance for the Americas Region. Like many other retiring executives, she sought out board membership to remain active and purpose-driven for the second act of her career. She now serves on all four committees for the board of Stepan Company ($2B annual revenue) and on the audit and compensation committees for the board of AngioDynamics ($86M annual revenue).

A Detroit native, Lorinda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Political Science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Marketing from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Actively involved with the University of Michigan’s Alumni Association, she volunteers for the LEAD Scholars program, which offers merit-based scholarships and empowering community support to admitted students who exemplify the program’s four pillars: leadership, excellence, achievement and diversity.

During football season, if there’s a home game in Ann Arbor, you’ll likely find Lorinda and her family cheering “Go Blue!” from the stands. They’re Michigan-proud through and through — both her daughters and her husband are alumni, too. Other than attending college football games, Lorinda enjoys travel and spending time with family.
